Delft Tiles

view of delft

"View of Delft" by Johannes Vermeer painted about 1660. The town in the Netherlands where the finest Delftware was produced from about the 16th C.

Delft tiles are one of the most popular and recognisable of all the traditional styles of tile painting. Originating from Delft in Holland, the Dutch tile painters were trying to imitate the blue and white porcelain being imported from China in the 17th Century.
We continue the tradition of Delft tiles in the original spirit and style. Our approach is to try to capture the feeling of the traditional work while also being adaptable by incorporating our client's own ideas.
The Delft tiles shown on our website are a limited selection and we have many more designs available in our tile studio. Most of our Delft designs are available in Blue, Polychrome and Manganese. However, as all of our tiles are made specifically for each individual client, any of our designs are adaptable in terms of size, content and colour.
